Overview

In The Paper are online suppliers of personalised newspapers, which allow their customers to select their own headline and content, on a front-page look-a-like.

Heavily targeted towards the gifts industry, Mediaworks increased their brand awareness and visibility allowing them to improve their sales and exposure.

Objectives

Mediaworks were tasked with optimising their 500+ page website to increase visibility in the over-generalised area of birthday gifts and presents.

In doing so, the ultimate aim was to increase traffic to the site across a broad range of keyword and key phrase combinations thus increasing conversions and sales in a highly competitive market.

Solution

Mediaworks worked closely with In The Paper to create a keyword/key phrase list targeting several niche presents and calendar event’s. Once this was established, we undertook an optimisation audit of their website optimising many existing pages and creating several new ones; the aim being to attract more traffic to the site by targeting these new pages with an in-depth link-building campaign.

We maximised our efforts in preparation of the busy periods in the gift industry (December – February), ensuring the results were in place to create the best possible exposure for In The Paper.

In the first 3 months of using our SEO campaign for In The Paper we achieved several first page results for them in Google UK, two of which were previously not present in the top 100; these being “Anniversary Present” and “Personalised Present”. This is an amazing achievement considering the competition within the market.

As a result of our keyword targeting of niche presents and calendar events, currently 275 keywords feature on the 1st page of Google UK.
